Henri restaurant in London, the latest venture from celebrated chef Jackson Boxer and the Experimental Group, opens its doors in Covent Garden this spring. Located on the ground floor of The Henrietta Hotel, the place promises a dining experience that marries the elegance of Parisian bistros with the history of Covent Garden.
Chef Jackson Boxer, known for his restaurants Brunswick House and Orasay, brings his culinary expertise and approach to Henri. His menu features classic French dishes reimagined with a contemporary take, showcasing his ability to blend British and French culinary traditions. Diners can expect a menu rich with French influences, featuring dishes celebrating exceptional produce and imaginative flavours. Boxer’s passion for Parisian bistros, honed through numerous culinary experiences in France, shines through in his latest creation.
The Experimental Group, famous for its creative approach to hospitality, is equally excited about this new collaboration. Having previously worked with Boxer at Cowley Manor Experimental, they are confident that Henri will be a resounding success. Xavier Padovani, partner and director of the Experimental Group, expressed his admiration for Boxer’s culinary talent, stating, “Jackson’s cooking is a poetic blend of British cuisine with subtle nods to French classics, and he never ceases to amaze us.”
The interior of Henri is designed by the reputed French interior designer Dorothée Meilichzon, a longtime collaborator of the Experimental Group. Meilichzon’s design draws inspiration from Paris’s visual language while celebrating Covent Garden’s history.

Henri’s menu celebrates French cuisine, reinterpreted with Jackson Boxer’s unique flair. Key dishes will include steak frites, a classic elevated with premium cuts of meat and crispy, golden fries. The Moules Marinières also featured on the menu, are fresh mussels cooked in white wine, garlic, and herbs, delivering oceanic flavours.
Guests can taste Duck Confit, a traditional French favourite, featuring tender duck leg confit served with creamy mashed potatoes. To finish off, Tarte Tatin for dessert, the caramelized apple tart, served with a dollop of crème fraîche.
In addition to the food, Henri will feature a selection of signature Experimental cocktails.
Henri’s opening in Covent Garden significantly adds to London’s culinary scene. As the city continues to attract food enthusiasts from around the world, the launch of Henri underscores London’s status as a global gastronomic hub.
