La Môme Restaurant London Review: French Riviera Dining in the City

You can find La Môme restaurant in London inside The Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge. It is a venue that brings the French Riviera’s glamour and culinary flair to the city’s heart. As the first international venture of the renowned Riviera-based group, which boasts successful establishments in Cannes and Monaco, La Môme offers diners an immersive Mediterranean experience.

“La Môme” pays homage to Lucienne Suzanne Vreurick, affectionately known as La Môme Moineau. She is a legendary 1920s hostess famed for her lavish soirées at Villa Bagatelle overlooking the Bay of Cannes. Twin brothers Ugo and Antoine Lecorché, the visionaries behind the brand, aim to encapsulate her spirit of hospitality and elegance in their establishments.

Upon entering La Môme London, guests are greeted by a sophisticated ambience curated by Cannes-based interior architect Samy Chams. The 220-cover dining room exudes Côte d’Azur chic, adorned with Slim Aarons’ photographs that capture the essence of 1960s Riviera life. The interiors feature a rich and seductive colour palette, with plush seating in jewel tones, crisp white table settings, and warm ambient lighting. Additionally, a newly designed heated terrace offers al fresco dining options, providing views of Belgravia and enhancing the Mediterranean vibe.

Dining at La Môme London transcends the culinary, offering an immersive experience with theatrical presentations and attentive service. Many dishes are prepared tableside, adding theatrical flair to the dining experience. For instance, the signature Truffle Arancini & Tuna Tartare arrives as a golden-fried risotto slab. It comes with truffle, stracciatella, fresh tuna tartare, and trout roe—a visual and gastronomic delight. The restaurant also features live entertainment, including pianists, singers, and DJs.

La Mome Restaurant London Menu

La Môme London’s menu celebrates Mediterranean cuisine, drawing inspiration from the bold and delicate flavours of Provençal and Italian cultures. Under the guidance of Executive Chef Benjamin Zannier and Chef Abdoul-Azize Cisse, the menu offers various dishes catering to diverse palates.

For starters, guests can find Truffle Arancini, a golden-fried risotto with truffle, stracciatella, fresh tuna tartare, and trout roe. The Tarama, a homemade smoked cod tarama, topped with trout roe and Espelette pepper, comes served with warm mini blinis.

Main dishes include the Australian Wagyu Tagliata. This is a Josper-grilled Wagyu flank steak, thinly sliced with fresh arugula and Parmesan. It provides a well-cooked piece of meat that balances flavour and tenderness. The Flame-Grilled Octopus alla Luciana is another tender and flavorful dish that showcases the restaurant’s mastery of seafood, prepared with Mediterranean herbs and spices.

For dessert, the Grand Marnier Soufflé offers a light yet indulgent finish to the meal. The Le Fondant Chocolat, a melt-in-your-mouth chocolate fondant, satisfies any sweet craving.

Complementing the cuisine is an inventive cocktail menu. It features creations like the “Coastline Punch,” a blend of Trois Rivières rum and Campari infused with strawberry, fresh pineapple juice, lime juice, and banana peel syrup.
