This year, the city’s dining scene elevates further with the highly anticipated launch of Shanghai Me restaurant in London, a luxurious Pan-Asian restaurant on the 28th floor of the London Hilton on Park Lane. Scheduled to open in late 2024, this venture marks the third London outpost by Fundamental Hospitality, the group behind successful restaurants like GAIA in Mayfair and La Maison Ani in Knightsbridge.
Shanghai Me promises to bring the glamour and sophistication of 1930s Shanghai to London. The interior, designed by Richard Saunders, will feature Art Deco elements. These are complemented by deep red velvet chairs, and low lighting to create a romantic atmosphere. The restaurant aims to capture the spirit of Old Shanghai while offering diners views of London’s skyline, including Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace.
The restaurant will become a significant addition to London’s upscale dining scene. As part of the ongoing transformation of the London Hilton on Park Lane, this new restaurant is expected to attract locals and international visitors looking for a unique and sophisticated dining experience in the heart of Mayfair.
Shanghai Me Restaurant London Menu
The menu at Shanghai Me will showcase an array of Pan-Asian dishes, reflecting the culinary traditions of East Asia. Executive Chef Yukitaka Kitade has curated a selection of dishes that blend authentic flavours with a modern flair.
Highlights include the Roast Duck with Foie Gras & Caviar, a decadent dish combining rich, luxurious ingredients. The Wagyu in Chestnut Pumpkin with Chili Garlic Sauce is another flavorful and tender dish. It promises to be a crowd favourite. Silver Cod with Yuzu Miso Sauce, a delicate and perfectly balanced seafood option, can open the appetite for the Coconut Flan with Ginger Ice Cream.
To keep up with the dessert game, a Giant Fortune Cookie with Chocolate and Matcha Mousse Filling offers a playful and indulgent end to the dining experience.
In addition to the food, the bar will offer a selection of zodiac-inspired cocktails. Taste “The Rooster,” “The Tiger,” and “The Ox,” alongside classic cocktails with a twist.
