Le Caprice restaurant in London, the legendary venue famous for its celebrity clientele and timeless elegance, will make a grand return in June 2025. The new establishment will be in The Chancery Rosewood, a luxurious hotel occupying the former US Embassy building in Grosvenor Square, Mayfair.
Originally opened in 1947 by Mario Gallati, Le Caprice quickly became a staple of London’s dining scene. Back in the day, it attracted luminaries such as Princess Diana, Mick Jagger, and Madonna. After closing its doors in 2020, current owner Richard Caring spearheaded the restaurant’s revival. He aims to blend Le Caprice’s classic essence with contemporary sophistication.
The new Le Caprice will feature interiors designed by Martin Brudnizki, known for his ability to infuse spaces with glamour and comfort. The restaurant will span two levels, accommodating 120 guests in the main dining area centred around a large bar and an additional 88 seats on a year-round terrace. A private dining room will offer an intimate setting for up to 24 guests. The design aims to honour the restaurant’s past while embracing modern aesthetics, creating a chic and inviting ambience.
A hallmark of Le Caprice has always been its ability to blend classic and contemporary elements. The new location intends to uphold this tradition. It will offer a dining experience that appeals to long-time patrons and a new generation of diners. A spacious bar area and a versatile terrace ensure that guests can enjoy the restaurant’s offerings in various settings.
