Hutong is one of the many favoured restaurants in the Aqua Restaurant Group hosting exclusively only to Beijing, Hong Kong and London. Based on ‘Lu school’ of Shandong Province the northern Chinese restaurant is placed in the well-known building centred in the heart of South-East London; The Shard. It shadows its older sister restaurant in Hong-Kong serving only the finest cuisine of what used to be Peking. Situated on the 33rd floor can already give you of an idea of how spectacular the views from your dinner are going to be without even having the décor of the restaurant to add to it.
As you walk into the restaurant the sexual mood and glamorous vibes are captured clearly by the dark- wood panelled walls (Moon Gates) and lined with red lit lanterns. The restaurant is dimly lit with more red lanterns placed on every table arranged around a ‘Wishing Tree’ in the centre where you’re able to write your hearts desires on a card and hang them up. The restaurant seats up to 130 covers. The need for bright lighting is not missed when you have the whole of London lighting up the restaurant with heights dominating over views including the London Eye.
Some of the signature dishes include ’Red Lantern’ (crispy soft-shell crab with sichuan dried chili), Chilled spiced razor clams steeped in Chinese Rose wine or the dream dish of crispy lamb ribs with no bones. You’d also be stupid to not try the Peking duck itself served with soft , warm pancakes and the Cantonese Dim Sum. The cocktails are crafted so cleverly inspired by ingredients used in traditional Chinese medicine making them completely exclusive to Hutong. If wine is more your taste there’s is a wide range including the expensive taste of ‘Baron de Ladoucette “L” Pouilly’ or ‘Mouton Rothschild 1989.
You throw all of this along with maybe a daytime view, a magnificent sunset or lit up night of the city that never sleeps you’re left with nothing but the full five star experience. The restaurant is perfect for any occasion whether its the night to pop the question, celebrating a new job or that reunion that’s finally come around; but be quick as tables don’t come easy , booking is necessary if you want to guarantee yourself a spot !
Hutong offers everything of the quality of being in Hong Kong with the beautiful panoramic views of London. Visit and see for yourself.

Galvin hop places itself on Spital Square standing proud next to its Michelin starred brother; Galvin La Chapelle. The restaurant even has a serving hatch that opens out onto the street for the punters that just don’t have time to stop where you can tuck into Galbin Pop’s ‘Hotodg De Luxe’ with an assortment of their very own truffle mustards. The designers paid close attention when creating the bistro to enhance the pub luxe feel with timber tiling lacing the ceiling and bronze low-lit beer tanks offering fresh Pilsner unpasteurised beer. It takes your normal pub and add the glamour of London. The new makeover adds colour to the interior with bright chairs and stylistic photos hung up on the wall adding a are-deco feel with large windows to allow natural light in giving the restaurant that extra alive feeling.
