The Asian inspired cuisine Buddha bar places itself in the heart of Knightsbridge, London. The winner of London Club and Bar awards 2017 for ‘Outstanding achievement’ aims to push its culinary abilities blending Far Eastern Cuisine with Western tastes and influences. This is also captured in their cocktail menu which consists of unique and experimental cocktails consisting of rare ingredients making them unique to any other bar.
When you first enter you’re welcomed by the two bedazzling dragon statues made of Swarovski crystal balls either side of a dim-lit staircase. The darkness immediately adds a seductive feel even before you've entered the restaurant and the best is yet to come. At the bottom of the stairs sets a David Begbie designed bone mesh sculpture of a Buddha. The interior inspires East meets West style and with 207 brass Buddha figures, Baroque architecture and intimate lighting it sets the ideal atmosphere for its clientèle. You are able to have the choice to be seated in the dining area where you can sit and stare in awe at the breath-taking decor and floating Buddha watching over you or a private booth to cater to your needs creating the perfect evening. Buddha Bar sets itself apart from other venues from its choice of eclectic and avante-garde music genre. It adds to the ambience of the bar with its hedonism feel which is rare to find in London making it popular with its guests; holding a lot of what London lacks.
Buddha bar and restaurant intertwines flavours from China , Japan and Thailand aiming to create a new Pacific Rim Cuisine. The menu ranges from Afternoon tea with a twist, The A La Carte Menu or even a specially designed Wellness menu. Buddha Bar London’s signature dishes include Spicy Mango Maki – with king crab, prawn tempura & spicy mango sauce, Grilled rack of lamb – spicy coconut crust with a fennel sandal, and Roasted Black Cod served with lemongrass miso.
The cocktails are infused with exotic flavours and carefully crafted to delight all senses by a highly skilled mixologist. Some of there signature cocktails include Bubble Wap (Strawberry & raspberry purée, rose liqueur, elderflower liqueur, a touch of Stolichnaya vodka, topped with Champagne), Kiwi Kukama,(Ketel One Citroen vodka, St. Germain Elderflower liqueur, fresh kiwi & cucumber) or Tokyo Old Fashioned (Nikka from the Barrel whisky, Urugasumi Umeshu plum sake & chocolate bitters, served over a hand crafted ice ball.) Make your way down the list to experience every different aspect of their menu leaving you forgetting your London location and placing you in the streets of Asia.
