Sucre Restaurant London

September 4, 2021 Capital A List - Celebrity club news

Sucre Restaurant London

Sucre restaurant London is brought to you by Fernando Trocca and Renato “Tato” Giovannoni. The two have taken over the 310-year old building that was the London College of Music in Soho and in its place created the new luxury restaurant Sucre. It is based on the original Sucre restaurant founded back in 2001 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The venue is split into two, with the restaurant upstairs (named Sucre) and a cocktail bar downstairs (named Abajo). They each have their own entrances and separate menus.

Sucre’s cuisine is a mix of Spanish. Italian, Latin American and other European influences. The restaurant has all been built around the kitchen area, which has a stunning open fire pit, and a wood fired oven. It truly is an amazing visual. The food served at Sucre features many incredible options. The fantastic range of dishes includes the scallop tiradito (tender slices of shellfish in a soy-based sauce, covered in fresh chilli and horseradish). Also highly recommended is the cheese and onion empanada. There are many fish-based dishes available at Sucre including monkfish tail and brill with tarragon. All dishes are designed to be suitable for sharing. For dessert, nothing beats the classic Argentine dulce de leche fondant.

Venturing over to the cocktail bar Abajo, you’ll notice the vibe is a little more chilled out and moody. It’s similar to Tato’s other bar, currently ranked No.7 on the World’s 50 Best list. The original wooden ceiling and steel pillars give off the aura of an ’80s-era Buenos Aires cocktail bar. You’ll also find live music at Abajo bar which features a funky assortment of late 70s Argentine rock and 80s European bands. The superb selection of cocktails is hadlined by the gorgeous Something Orange, which blends corn liqueur with peanut and pumpkin chicha.

GymKhana Restaurant London

March 11, 2020 Capital A List - Celebrity club news

Gymkhana Restaurant London

Since 2014, Mayfair’s GymKhana has held a Michelin star for its excellent contemporary Indian Cuisine. In June of last year the restaurant suffered a large fire, which took hold of the entire venue, causing it to close. However, GymKhana has recently reopened in February of this year, bringing their exceptional Indian Cuisine back to Mayfair.

GymKhana Restaurant London is set across two floors, the Ground Floor remains a similar design to how it was prior to the fire, furnished with Brown-tones and dimmed lighting, however the lower ground floor has been redesigned, including both Gas and Charcoal Tandoors ensuring the flavours of their dishes are truly enhanced. Head Chef Jitin Joshi has devised a delicious menu, showcasing his culinary talents through delicious courses whether that be their Kebabs, Tikka’s, Curries or Biryani’s. Our favourite dish from GymKhana’s menu was their ‘Lasooni Wild Tiger Prawns and Red Pepper Chutney, which we paired with Basmati Rice, both the flavours and the restaurants ambience complimented each other perfectly, leaving us only wanting to try more!

GymKhana has a Bar, which presents guests with their signature cocktails. Their ‘off-menu’ signature Cocktail ‘Quinine Sour’, was certainly a Cocktail like no other I have had before, this special addition adds that little something extra to GymKhana! Open until 1am, The GymKhana Bar specialises in creating new drinks for guests to try. Their specialised Gin List can be partnered with their in-house GymKhana Tonic, giving guests a new, exciting, unique flavours only to be found at GymKhana.

For a beautiful venue, serving the finest Indian Cuisine, Gymkhana restaurant London is certainly the restaurant to visit.

Muse Restaurant London Review: Tom Aikens’ Life Story On A Plate

February 3, 2020 Capital A List - Celebrity club news

Muse restaurant in London, by Tom Aikens, offers an intimate fine dining experience as much about storytelling as food. With only 25 covers, the restaurant in Belgravia provides a personal and immersive culinary journey inspired by Aikens’ life and career.

The restaurant occupies a charming Georgian mews house at 38 Groom Place. Rebecca Korner designed the interior, which combines eclectic furniture with jewel-toned marble and rich wood. The space divides into two floors, each featuring an open kitchen where diners can watch the culinary team at work.

One of Britain’s most acclaimed chefs, Tom Aikens, crafts the menu by drawing inspiration from his childhood memories and pivotal moments in his career. This approach results in a series of tasting menus. They evolve with the seasons and emphasize a single key ingredient or element in each dish.

The dining experience at Muse is immersive and engaging. The open-plan kitchen allows guests to observe the preparation of each dish. The intimate setting and personalized service ensure that every diner feels like a valued guest. The restaurant also features a Chef’s Table, offering an exclusive dining experience with a front-row view of the culinary action.

Muse Restaurant London Menu

Muse exclusively offers multi-course tasting menus, showcasing Aikens’ creative and meticulous approach to cooking. Some of this season’s highlights include “Conquering the Beech Tree”. This is a dish inspired by the chef’s childhood adventures, featuring smoked eel, beetroot, and horseradish. “The Sea, The Sea” is a seafood dish with scallops, seaweed, and finger lime, reflecting Aikens’ love for the ocean.

Another popular option is the “Shellfish Garden”, a stunning plate with lobster, cauliflower, and curry, presenting a harmonious blend of flavours and textures. There’s “Playtime”, a playful dessert with elements of chocolate, hazelnut, and salted caramel, inspired by Aikens’ playful nature as a child.

Muse takes pride in sourcing its ingredients from local British suppliers and farmers who share the restaurant’s commitment to quality and sustainability. Notable suppliers include HG Walter, an independent family-run butcher, and Flying Fish, which delivers fresh seafood to the restaurant within 48 hours of being caught.

Since its opening, Muse has received critical acclaim and was awarded a Michelin star in its first year. The restaurant’s unique approach to storytelling through food has resonated with diners and critics.
