Tucked beneath the historic Pantechnicon building on Motcomb Street, Sachi restaurant in London is a refined Japanese venue that blends traditional culinary techniques with Nordic influences. Since its opening in 2020, it has become a destination for those seeking an elevated dining experience in the city.
Sachi is part of the Pantechnicon, a five-story venue celebrating Japanese and Nordic cultures. The restaurant is led by Executive Chef Chris Golding, formerly of Nobu and Zuma, and Head Chef Collin Hudson, who brings experience from Dinings and Roka. Their combined expertise results in a menu honouring Japanese traditions while incorporating seasonal British ingredients and subtle Nordic touches.
Here, guests are greeted by a warm, minimalist interior featuring natural woods, exposed brick walls, and soft lighting. The main dining area includes an eight-seat sushi bar, offering an intimate view of the chefs at work. For those seeking a more secluded experience, semi-private alcoves and a private dining room are available.
Sachi offers a kappo-style dining experience, emphasising the chef’s choice and seasonal ingredients. The rooftop bar provides panoramic views of London and features a nature-inspired design, drawing on Japanese garden aesthetics. In this tranquil setting, guests can enjoy a curated selection of sakes, Japanese whiskies, and innovative cocktails.
