Dove Restaurant London Review: Jackson Boxer’s Elevated Comfort Food

At 31 Kensington Park Road, Dove restaurant in London is the latest culinary venture from esteemed chef Jackson Boxer. Replacing the beloved seafood-centric Orasay, Dove offers a more accessible and indulgent menu that reflects Boxer’s culinary passions. Since its opening in January 2025, Dove has quickly become a neighbourhood favourite.

Chef Jackson Boxer, known for his work at Brunswick House and Orasay, envisioned Dove as a place to serve the dishes he most enjoys cooking and eating. Transitioning from Orasay’s seafood focus, Dove presents a menu centred on elevated comfort food, showcasing seasonal British ingredients with inventive twists. This shift has allowed Boxer to create an approachable and refined dining experience.

Dove retains much of Orasay’s original charm, featuring a light, airy interior adorned with wood and wicker furnishings. The dining area extends into a skylight-illuminated alcove at the back, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Soft jazz and Afrobeat tunes fill the space, complemented by candles in antique holders, casting flickering pools of light across the tables.

Dove Restaurant London Menu

Dove’s menu celebrates bold flavours and inventive combinations. Starters include raw scallops with finger lime and potato cake, and a fried potato pizzette adorned with bonito, burrata, and mortadella. Mains feature dishes like grilled wild sea bream with confit garlic and guindilla peppers. The wood-roast half chicken is served with Café de Paris butter, wild garlic, and morels. For dessert, the Estate Dairy fior di latte soft serve drizzled with early harvest olive oil and accompanied by oat cookies offers a delightful finish.

One of Dove’s most talked-about offerings is its 50-day dry-aged Highland beef burger, topped with gorgonzola. Limited to just ten servings per night and not listed on the menu, this “secret” item has become a coveted choice for in-the-know diners. Additionally, the restaurant’s commitment to quality is evident in its curated selection of wines and cocktails and its attentive and knowledgeable staff, who enhance the overall dining experience.

In summary, Dove stands as a testament to Jackson Boxer’s culinary prowess, offering a comforting and innovative menu. With its inviting ambience and thoughtfully crafted dishes, Dove has become a must-visit destination in Notting Hill’s dining scene.
