When will Tramp Re Open?
Since closing its doors in October 2023, Tramp has undergone a major refurbishment after it was taken over by new owners. Tramp club is re-opening its doors in September 2024 at its same location on Jermyn Street in Mayfair, London.
Luca Maggiora and his team will take over the famous private members club and intend to make noticeable changes to the running of the club. Other than the founding members, the current members will need to reapply for membership along with anyone else wishing to secure access to the venue. New members will be selected by a new committee.
Tramp is an iconic members club dating back to December 1969 when it was opened by Johnny Gold. It was named after Charlie Chaplin’s tramp persona. It had originally 300 founder members who were all celebrities paying an annual fee of 10 guineas. Photography was banned and paparazzi were not allowed to enter the property. Anyone awho asked celebrities for autographs was ejected from the building too!
Celebrities at Tramp Club
Notable celebrities who have visited Tramp include Clint Eastwood, Rod Stewart, Madonna and Mick Jagger. There have been dozens of infamous stories involving celebrities at the club. One such story involves Mel Brooks running around the club barking like a dog. Another is Kate Moss singing Happy Birthday for someone’s 60th birthday party.
Luca Maggiora
Luca Maggiora is best known for being the entrepreneur behind luxury Mayfair venues Toy Room, Scandal, Cuckoo Club and Bardo. According to a piece in Tatler magazine, Luca plans to be at the front and to welcome everyone once Tramp reopens under his ownership. He says ‘The only way I know how to make a place work is being the first one to come and the last one to leave and to welcome every single person’.
More information on the Tramp club re-opening will be released by Luca and Tramp club in upcoming months before its planned September date.

Mosimann’s – A Look Inside London’s Famous Members Restaurant
When one utters “Darling… I’m just popping in for a spot of lunch at a luxurious dining restaurant in Belgravia that catered to both Harry and William’s wedding; it has John Major, John Cleese and a long list of actors, writers, and politicians as regulars too. The rub is that you must be a member to even order a starter, and it catered for the Olympics, US presidents and some of the most powerful people […]
