Luca Maggiora’s new restaurant in London, Bardo, is a new Italian restaurant that is so chic with a menu showcasing delectable food with a live band to give you the complete Bardo experience. Walk into the stunning large restaurant and set your eyes on the fancy walk-in wine cellar, whisky room, private dining room, private lounge and a long marble bar all make for a perfect setting for all special occasions.
Amalfi-born chef Graziano Bonacina heads up the kitchen at Bardo with a tongue titillating menu of Italian cuisine. The menu, is traditional and showcases unique Italian cuisine from the south of Italy. Diners are suggested to order a series of courses, starting with antipasti, order a variety of small plates to share such as the burrata with figs puree, pickle radicchio, chioggia beetroot and white balsamic dressing, polenta morbida with fricassée of truffle mushroom and capesanate gratinate which are roast king scallops with Jerusalem artichokes and nduja. Traditionally next up will be the pasta, suggested is the lobster tagliatelle in crazy water with Calabrian chilli and black crumble. If you are a meat lover or have room for more, order the Branzino, roasted beef with crushed potato and broccoli, clams guazzetto and taggiasche olives.
Now, the desserts are a must try and range from traditional dishes to some old time classics: Bardo tiramisu with marsala ice cream and chocolate coffee beans and a must try is the rum babá served with crème chantilly and berry sauce. You might even be lucky enough to meet Bardo’s charming pastry chef. The menu is a true example of how Italians dine and eat.
Luca Maggiora’s has hired Luigi Milone, who used to be at Cipriani to design an inviting cocktail menu and source an extensive list of Italian wines.
Bardo is a great place to enjoy a lavish dinner Italian style with some live entertainment to make it extra special.
