In the heart of Knightsbridge, The Restaurant Ours, bought to life by Tom Sellers has been a huge success, with Head Chef Daniel Phippard serving a menu of European Cuisine with British Influences, which are accompanied by delicious hand-crafted cocktails and carefully chosen wines to accompany specific dishes. Ours is both a restaurant and cocktail lounge, both menus highlighting the high-standards and excellence of their culinary creations.

Tom Sellers restaurant has a simple, yet elegant interior, the neutral colours of the furniture enhance the beautiful main feature point of the restaurant being a tree lit up with golden lights, a simple yet effective aspect to the restaurant. To begin, I had the ‘Butterfly’ Cocktail found under the signature section of the cocktail menu, featuring Gin, homemade blackcurrant jam, lychee liquor and lime, a unique, yet delicious combination of flavours.

In regards to dining, the food is just delicious. To begin, the Halloumi Popcorn served alongside a black sesame mayonnaise was the perfect starter, not too filling yet full of flavour. For a main course, I chose the Lemon Sole Fillet Mugnaia, which alone was divine, however served alongside a bed of new potatoes, capers and lemon zest, there were no complaints. To finish the meal, the spiced pineapple carpaccio with coconut sorbet and coriander syrup was the ideal dessert to compliment a faultless meal.

If guests are after a private dining space, Ours has their own private dining room seating a maximum of 20 people. The Bloom Room is furnished with plush interiors, making your experience both formal and elegant. Paired with The Bloom Room is a set group menu, making the evening for exclusive for guests.

Kitchen W8

Kitchen W8 was introduced to Kensington in 2009 with head chef Mark Kempson earning the restaurant its first Michelin Star in 2011. The restaurant promotes a relaxed, friendly, neighbourhood atmosphere for diners to enjoy a taste of one of Kensington’s best restaurants.

Diners are in for a treat at kitchen W8, who’s menu is English with French influences. The A La Carte menu is full of delicious, unique dishes created for diners to explore new flavours. As well as an A La Carte menu, the restaurant offers a tasting menu, again exploring a variety of different flavours and French influences. Kitchen W8 also offers a Sunday Menu, not only offering a Roast Rump of Beef, but also dishes such as Caramelized Parmesan Gnocchi and Roast Breast of Guinea Hen.

De Mario - The best Restaurants in Kensington.

Located in a beautiful 120 year old building on Gloucester Road, De Mario upholds a traditional, classical style creating a unique ambience to one of London’s Italian Restaurants.

London is full of excellent, authentic Italian Restaurants; however De Mario exceeded all expectations and can’t go unnoticed. To begin our dining experience, we started with a Bruschetta, a typical Italian favourite, featuring the freshest, juiciest tomatoes and crumbled Goats Cheese, the Goats Cheese added that extra flavour a Bruschetta doesn’t normally hold. To follow we had undoubtably one of the best pizza’s to be found in London. Topped with Parma Ham, Fresh rocket and Parmesan, the ‘Regina’ pizza should certainly be considered as a menu choice when visiting. De Mario also has an extensive wine list, offering diners a variety of high-quality red, white, rose and sparkling wines to accompany their meals. De Mario is certainly worth a visit when in the Kensington area.

The Ivy

The Ivy Kensington Brasserie is a beautiful restaurant found at 96 Kensington High Street, being part of The Ivy Collection, The Kensington Brasserie is a wonderful, relaxed yet sophisticated restaurant that continues to uphold the excellent reputation of The Ivy brand, serving delicious food and excellent cocktails.

Featuring some delicious courses, The Ivy menu caters for everyone, offering a wide variety of meat, fish and vegetarian options. As well as an A La Carte menu, The Ivy Kensington Brasserie has a weekend brunch menu including brunch favourites such as an Eggs Benedict / Eggs Royale as well as new inclusions such as a watermelon and quinoa salad for those who are after something different for brunch.

In terms of Private Dining, The Ivy Kensington Brasserie has a semi-private dining area seating a maximum of 12 people. Set aside from the main restaurant, the private dining room promotes an intimate setting whilst still maintaining the ambience of the main restaurant.

Clarkes

With its dark, sophisticated exterior, Clarke’s Restaurant upholds its reputation throughout the entire dining experience. Serving European/British Cuisine to diners, Clarke’s Restaurant is Certainly not one to be missed if you’re looking for one of the best restaurants in Kensington.

Aside from their delicious A La Carte menu, Clarke’s also offer three set menus, Lunch, dinner and Sunday menu’s. The A La Carte menu at Clarke’s is full of a variety of different experimental flavours, each bringing new tastes and experiences for diners to try. A particular favourite found on the dinner menu was the Roasted Scottish Halibut, accompanied with a sauce of prosecco and chives, alongside Romanesco, carrots, purple sprouting broccoli and pink fir potatoes.

Clarke’s restaurant also features its ‘Wine Room’. A space for up to 28 guests, ideal for accommodating larger parties/those celebrating special occasions. Sample menus are available for those who are interested in booking the venue.

Ceru

Just a short walk away from Chelsea and Knightsbridge, Ceru, which seats up to 40 guests serves brunch, lunch, dinner and cocktails to their guests.

Located on Bute Street, Kensington, Ceru provides an All Day menu, containing nearly 100 ingredients and over 20 different spices. The flavours in our meal were truly delicious, showcasing unusual flavours from across the Eastern Mediterranean. The hummus we shared to begin was divine, the rich flavour of chickpeas was beautifully complimented by green chilli’s which enhanced the flavour of the dish wonderfully. For a main, I chose the Galata Crab cakes, an unusual menu choice for me however one I would certainly have again. The wonderful flavour of the Crab meat was complimented excellently with the distinct pumpkin flavour, a light yet delicious dish.

Ceru is certainly one of Kensington’s best restaurants, not only for the food but the service was faultless. Our waiter was extremely attentive, ensuring we had a wonderful experience. For a reasonably priced, Mediterranean delight, Ceru is the restaurant to come to.

If you’re looking for an excellent seafood restaurant, then look no further than Wrights Brothers. Found at 56 Brompton Road, South Kensington, Wrights Brothers serves up some of the best seafood to be found in London.

In 2002, the Wrights Brothers began new careers into the world of delicious seafood. In 2005 the first Wright Brothers restaurant opened, with the intention of introducing the world to their love and passion for excellent seafood.

Serving a combination of simplicity combined with excellence, the menu at Wrights Brothers is any seafood fanatic’s dream! Offering small plates, main courses, side dishes and seasonal dishes of the day there is something for everyone. Whether you’re a lover of Shellfish or are after a classic dish such as Dover Sole, we can guarantee that the flavours in each and every dish will be divine.

As well as the South Kensington restaurant, Wrights Brothers has a total of five restaurants across London, Battersea Power Station, Soho, South Kensington, Borough Market and Spitalfields. So wherever you are in London, the Wrights Brothers won’t be far away, this is one of the best restaurants in Kensington and truly isn’t a restaurant to be missed.

Min Jiang

For a taste of authentic Chinese Cuisine, Min Jiang is one of South Kensington’s best Restaurants. Found at 2-24 Kensington High Street, Kensington, Royal Garden Hotel, London W8 4PT, Min Jiang is certainly not one to be missed.

With stunning views across Hyde Park and London’s Skyline, the simple black, cream and red interior brings a relaxed, yet sophisticated ambience to the restaurant. As well as the main restaurant, Min Yiang has a private dining room which seats a maximum of twenty guests and features a stylish, modern bar.

The menu explores the excellence of Chinese cuisine, with Min Jiang having their own signature dishes, they also feature an extensive variety of dishes for diners to try. To begin I had the Sweetcorn soup with Blue Swimmer Crab meat, followed by Stir-fried Corn-fed Chicken with Sweet Basil, served in a Sanpei Sauce. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, an explosion of beautiful flavours, that wouldn’t be found anywhere else in London.

For a beautiful taste of delicious Authentic Chinese Cuisine, a sample of class, elegance and sophisticated, Min Jiang is one of the best restaurants in Kensington to come to.

Yashin Ocean House - The best Restaurants in Kensington.

Yashin Ocean House is one of South Kensington’s modern Japanese Restaurants, serving diners Japanese Tapas both hot and cold dishes set in a beautiful dining hall surrounded by unique Edwardian Architecture bringing a relaxed, yet sophisticated ambience to the restaurant.

Found at 117-119 Old Brompton Road, South Kensington, Yashin Ocean House is renowned for it’s excellent Sushi. The interior is very simple, nude seating and décor which compliments the beautiful blue surface of the seating bar. The neutral tones assist in enhancing the true beauty of the centrepiece. As well as the décor being wonderful, the food is equally as spectacular. Sashimi is my guilty pleasure, therefore I began with a Sashimi platter, which included Salmon, Tuna and Yellowtail, it was truly divine. I then followed the Sashimi with the the Paradise Prawn Tempura, which was the highlight of my visit, the crispy tempura was just enough to enhance the wonderful flavours of the prawn.

Being one of London’s very best Sushi restaurants, and certainly one of the best restaurants in Kensington, Yashin Ocean is undoubtedly worth a visit
