Sketch Bar London

Sketch   Sketch nestles itself on number 9 Conduit street in the glamorous streets of Mayfair. The artist-conceived restaurant and bar was opened up in 2003 by Mourad Mazouz side by side with Head Chef Pierre Gagnaire. Sketch cuisine is focused on Gagnaire’s three Michelin-starred restaurant in Paris and adapts to the style of ‘New French.’ The vibrant gastro-brasserie covers two floors of a 18th Century building the building thrives in uniqueness in all aspects. David Shrigley’s Artwork surrounds the dining area marking it as a must visit in London. This quirky venue in London is beaming with history hosting to 220 years of events and people including the suffragette movement which leads to no surprise why everything inside adds to why the restaurant and bar is so iconic to London. Each room is different from the other with every experience different from the last with chairs wearing ballet shoes, a magical forest and stairs dripping with paint. The glade was redesigned last year and represents a mythical forest. The carpet is layered with fluffy material to represent the floor. The interior around is designed as trees as around with the lighting above representing branches. Everything is so carefully crafted its unimaginable. The bar itself beams over its onlookers with bottles being showcased on shelves dotted up the wall with a warm glow lighting each one up. Topped up with velvet seating, a tinted glass ceiling and even a self-playing piano adding a little entertainment for the diners. The Gallery and The Lecture room each both offer different experiences . The Gallery offers a pink lovers heaven to dine. Pink chairs, pink table, pink walls, pink floor. What more could you ask? The Lecture room goes on to present a sunset built within four walls. The glowing colours add a cool feel to the room. The Lecture room also won Sketch its two Michelin stars! On to the Parlour, the restaurant and bar exclusive to Sketch members, club nights and private events. The room consists of vibrants prints contrasting alongside pinks, oranges and crushed velvet. The seating ranges from French day beds to victorian sofas with Sketch making sure all the customers dine in style. As you walk along to the East Bar you're welcomed with a menu designed in the style of a tabloid newspaper with only the finest Martini’s for you to choose from. A recommended drink is the El Conde Negroni, which replaces the traditional gin with a smoky mezcal. But let’s not forget the reason why we all visit Sketch. Toilets like no other in London. Disco dancing floor tiles as a ceiling, futuristic egg shaped pods as toilets and an oval mirror to capture it all for the instagram. Sketch offers an experience like no other added exclusivity, variety and beauty all into one building.
