No.5 Social Restaurant London

No.5 Social Restaurant London

No.5 Social is Jason Atherton’s newest restaurant that has replaced his Little Social located in the heart of Mayfair. It can be found across the street from Atherton’s flagship Pollen Street Social restaurant. The interior designed by Rosendale Design replaces the dark wood interiors and antiquity of Little Social with lighter and more modern interiors. No.5 Social restaurant London is warm and comfortable with its neutral colour palette of earth tones, pale pinks and deep blues. Lighting is subtle; and sleek timber panels and chic duck egg fabric banquettes imbue the space with a feeling of ease and simplistic elegance.

Their menu is devised by head Chef, Kostas Papathanasiou. His impressive culinary background includes experiences at The Fat Duck restaurant in Bray, and The Ledbury in Notting Hill. Preceding No.5 Social he worked alongside Dale Bainbridge as Senior Sous Chef at Pollen Street Social. No.5 Social’s menu moves away from French cuisine of Little Social and instead focus on celebrating seasonal British ingredients and produce. The menu comprises a variety of options for guests with different needs, and this includes vegetarian as well as vegan menus. The Prix Fixe lunch menu is also ideal for guests looking for a lunch spot for client meetings. It is a fixed menu highlighting some of No.5 Social’s favourite dishes; and is reasonably priced at £19.50 for two courses or £24.50 for three courses. On the A La Carte menu, we suggest starting with a £14.50 beef tartare sourced from Lake District. This is simply delicious and freshly prepared with caramelised onion jam and foie gras sauce. Another fantastic choice is the £13.50 Cornish mussels made with heritage green asparagus and bonito. For mains, guests can select a fish dish including a poached halibut and roasted Cornish cod; or a simply delicious roasted chicken dish. Guests cannot go wrong with one of their meat dishes, and one of our favourites was the £35 Galloway rib-eye steak. It is the the epitome of a succulent meat dish as it is aged for 28 days to allow for as much flavour as possible. It also comes with crisp chips and a light mixed salad. No.5 Social restaurant London also has a plethora of sides to share between groups. Their triple cooked chips and warm green kale are two great additions to any meal.

Guests can dive straight into an exquisite wine list created by The Social Company’s Excecutive Sommelier Laure Patry. The wines encompass the very best of both English and international selections. No.5 Social also has a lavish cocktail list with each focusing on a distinct flavour. Guests can choose from their Rhuburb, Cucumber through to Cherry and Strawberry cocktails. Cocktails are reasonably priced between £12 – £13 and are all infused with light, flavourful and botanical ingredients. One of favourites was the Apricot cocktail made with peach botanical spirit, kumquat, apricot puree and citrus.

No.5 Social restaurant London also accommodates for guests that desire more intimate dining settings with its Private Room and its exclusive hire option with a capacity of sixty. Its private dining is as luxurious as the rest of the restaurant and offers its own sample dining menu for £80 per person.

It prides itself on delivering a convivial and warm ambience whilst retaining its simplicity and elegance in its stylish interiors. Although we have lost Little Social, No.5 Social is a wonderful addition to the Mayfair restaurant scene that is forecasted to deliver the same level of quality and hospitality with its new contemporary space and British cuisine.
