Fresh from Lima’s culinary scene, Fan restaurant in London has quietly opened its first international outpost in Notting Hill—and it’s already a thrilling addition to the city’s restaurant scene. Born from the vision of childhood friends Romina Parra, Jorge Sasaki, and Santiago Wong, Fan began as a passion project in Peru and swiftly evolved into a cult favourite for its inventive fusion of Japanese, Peruvian, Chinese, and global influences.
Just two years after making waves in Lima, this trio brings their acclaimed “neo-Nikkei” approach to West London. Fan offers two distinct dining experiences: an intimate, 11‑course omakase curated with seasonal precision, and an equally compelling à la carte menu, perfect for those who enjoy shaping their culinary journey.
Fan occupies a tucked‑in space in leafy Notting Hill. Though details on interiors remain subtle, the restaurant’s serene location and discreet entrance feel aligned with the intimate, chef‑led ethos of omakase dining—where the focus is purely on the food and experience.
With a storytelling approach woven through every dish, Fan captures the dynamic spirit of Nikkei cuisine—bold, refined, layered, and thoroughly modern. Opening quietly is exactly the right move—sometimes the whispers are more unforgettable than the headlines.
Fan Restaurant London Menu
Fan’s menu reads like a love letter to Nikkei innovation. Must-try dishes include the scallops with squash butter, Manchego cheese, and crispy rice. This is a delicate interplay of textures and rich contours. The ceviche Lima‑Bangkok, served with ikura, shallots, tapioca cracker, pickled limo chilli, and coconut tiger milk is a global mash-up that tantalises the palate.
Go for the Ebi Emperador Nigiri, featuring shrimp, Nikkei cheese, batayaki, lime, and tare—a lush reimagining of classic nigiri. The Sweet Miso Makie comes topped with ebi furai, apple furai, cream cheese, miso honey, and smashed pecans and walnuts. It is another playful, indulgent bite.
The à la carte menu further rounds out the experience with items like Lima razor clams with smoked Peruvian yellow chilli. Other standouts include tuna taco tempura with Nikkei guacamole and seared scallops with yuzu butter, Grana Padano, and quinoa pops. Prawn & truffle gyoza with fungi butter take the centre stage. Hamachi tiradito with scallop emulsion and smashed Peruvian corn shine on the plate. To round off the meal, a lúcuma fruit mousse with Peruvian chocolate and matcha.

You’d expect a Michelin-starred chef with his CV to be all puffed up with self-importance, but not Sameer. He’s not the type to humble brag with his hand earnestly resting on his chest, telling you ‘how grateful and humbled’ he is in that way that makes you cringe. No, […]

Mosimann’s – A Look Inside London’s Famous Members Restaurant

When one utters “Darling… I’m just popping in for a spot of lunch at a luxurious dining restaurant in Belgravia that catered to both Harry and William’s wedding; it has John Major, John Cleese and a long list of actors, writers, and politicians as regulars too. The rub is that you must be a member to even order a starter, and it catered for the Olympics, US presidents and some of the most powerful people […]
