Claw & Hammer is a restaurant that brings American seafood traditions and flavors to London. Focusing on shellfish and traditional seafood boil from the southern states of America, the restaurant makes a homage to cajun spice and crustaceans. Be ready for a hands-on experience, where you’ll be breaking crab shells and tearing lobster pieces apart to find juicy and fresh meat on the inside. The dishes are large, and there is not much ceremony to eating them, where guests are given blue gloves to tear their food apart.
Starting at the oyster bar is a must to have a preview of what’s about to come. They can come with different sauces, from soy and seaweed ponzu to buffalo sauce and pickled celery. The thing about Claw & Hammer is that they can deliver the fresh simplicity of seafood while still dressing it with potent spices and secondary flavors. They never hide or obscure each other but complement every process as you dig into your mussel and shrimp hot-pot to find more meat at the bottom. Corn on the cob, red potatoes, and smoked sausage are all served on a Cajun-style broth on the side.
The restaurant’s interior design is as casual as its eating manners. You will find yourself inside an Alabama-style seaside industrial warehouse, with exposed raw wood paneling and ducts on the ceiling and down the red brick walls. Large wood picnic tables are spread across the dining room, where you will find large groups of people hovering over a banquet of seafood. Come with your friends or family and enjoy an afternoon of fresh seafood, lots of laughter, and a full belly by the time you leave!

He’s not the type to humble brag with his hand earnestly resting on his chest, telling you ‘how grateful and humbled’ he is in that way that makes you cringe. No, […]
