Lyaness is the newest bar from the award-winning Ryan Chetiyawardana (more commonly known as Mr Lyan) and his esteemed team. Their success also includes the acclaimed venues White Lyan, Super Lyan and Cub. Lyaness recently replaced Dandelyan, which was named "The world's best bar" in 2018. It has retained the essence of its Dandelyan heritage and popularity with its new design engineered by the same designer, Jacu Strauss and the Lore Design Team. Lyaness bar London has, however, imbued the space with a greater focus on comfortability and fun. It features a signature electric blue colour theme complemented by its original green marble bar. It also has spectacular views of the Thames River by continuing its collaboration with Sea Containers London. The real significant change shines through in the cocktails.
The 21-drink menu encompasses seven home-made ingredients showcasing flavours such as banana, pineapple and raspberry. Three unique and superb drinks are made from each ingredient. What makes Lyaness different from the rest, including its predecessor Dandelyan, is its new-found curiosity to transform alien and unusual ingredients into delicious cocktails. Page-long blurbs accompany each ingredient to illustrate how Lyaness has manipulated the ingredients in the most unusual ways. Its mantra is to lead by flavour instead of recipes. This is definitely epitomised in its first ingredient-cocktail selection, 'Infinite Banana'. Naturally the cordial is made from banana where the focus lies in curing and fermenting to bring out as many remarkable and complex flavours as possible. It comes in a trio of cocktails encompassing three distinct interpretations of the Banana flavour- smoky, spicy and sweet. An excellent cocktail made with this ingredient includes their £13.5 Double Pain Killer. It has the added ingredients of Bombay Sapphire, Bacardi Cuatro and is finished off with dashes of coconut, lemon and orange. Another exceptional ingredient-led cocktail type is made with their unique 'Aromatised Milk Wine' cordial. Lyaness bar London champions an innovative preservation technique that changes the natural textures and flavours of the milk. These techniques reduce the heavy dairy effect and capture fuller taste and aroma. The milk cordial best shines through in its £13 Silver Bullet cocktail. Its made to perfection with roku gin, milk wine, bitter orange and a bit of lemon.
With its ethos to be vibrant yet relaxed, Lyaness is the perfect haunt for early afternoon tea with its cocktail-based tea selection. It also transforms into the best bar location for after-work and weekend drinks with its prestigious resident DJs and eclectic mix of rock, funk and disco.

Nestled between City and Shoreditch on the 10th Floor of the new Montcalm Royal House Hotel in Finsbury Square is Aviary; a stylish rooftop terrace soaring above the busy streets of London. It has been heralded as one of London’s best rooftop destinations, famous for its breathtaking city skyline views and opulent style. Cocktail connoisseurs and city-slickers alike flock to this elegant rooftop bar and restaurant designed by Russell Sage Studio.
The main restaurant space is designed with an art deco inspiration with its large circular ceiling lights and glamorous gold and cream fabrics, juxtaposed with pops of bright purple, orange and green colours. It features a stunning central bar which elegantly divides the restaurant area from the bar lounge. The outdoors is brought inside with hanging planters and is combined with chic geometric-patterned furniture, plush single seating and relaxed banquettes creating a bright and vibrant atmosphere. The outside rooftop terrace is a spectacular vantage point to view some of London’s most iconic buildings with a cocktail in hand. It has comfortable lounge seating and is decorated with colourful and elegant outdoor furniture; and hanging heater lamps, making it a stylish outdoor venue in both summer and winter.
At the bar lounge an array of beautifully crafted cocktails embrace botanic flavours and use natural ingredients in a fresh and creative way. Drinks are presented in chic copper and sharing pineapple shaped tankards. For evening drinks at the outdoor terrace, we suggest trying the Honey Rider mixed with Tanqueray gin and botanical ingredients like honey, mead, blackberries, thyme and lemon. Another choice recommendation is the Take It Sloe made with oak aged Sloe & Mulberry gin, lemon, honey and egg white. There is also a wide selection of wines, beers, rums, cognac, gins and champagnes to choose from. For guests that desire a light bite with their drinks, the bar menu is superb with its small plates of hummus, sesame and grilled pitta or pair a fine champagne with their fresh Lindisfarne rock oysters.
Aviary sources its food from small British livestock farmers who share the same passion for seasonal and sustainable Great British produce. Lunch and dinner menus are available at the main restaurant and we suggest starting your evening with their £13 tuna ceviche with coconut, lemongrass, red chili, radish, lotus root and sesame or the aged beef tartare with confit egg yolk, shallots and potato crisps. For mains the £20 Suffolk pork belly with black pudding, celeriac choucroute, red wine and apple puree as well as the £19.5 roast chicken breast with pancetta, leeks, gnocchi and roasting juices are great choices. For those looking for robust grilled mains, prime cuts of beef and aged for 21 – 35 days including a Butcher’s Cut, Rib Eye and Chateaubriand are available with a choice of Bearnaise, Hodson’s, peppercorn and truffle gravy.
Whether it be evening cocktails, or dining from one of their elegantly crafted menus, Aviary delivers class and a vibrant ambience for all guests with spectacular views of the city below.

W London Hotel in Leicester Square seamlessly blends urban edge with London glamour at its Perception bar and lounge. It’s a Soho oasis where fashion, music and design come together to represent the vibrant plurality of the Londoner. Like the city itself, the Perception bar encompasses every side to every personality including the dark and light, playful and serious, the substance and sparkle; and the bold and witty.
With its location in walking distance from the electric theatre scene, the fashion of Brewer street and Soho’s buzzing nightlife, The Perception bar takes inspiration from the sophisticated and quirky trends of modern London. It has a striking colour palette of black and gold which is offset by elegant pastels and opulent reds; and bespoke leather sofas tattooed by the acclaimed Frith Street Tattoo studio. It also incorporates mirrored ceilings and colourful light sculptures that give guests a rose-tinted view of Leicester Square below.
For a standard fee of £39 per person, £44 with a glass of Prosecco or £49 with Kiki cocktails, experience their electric afternoon tea with edible cosmetics and bejeweled bakes served in drag queens make-up boxes. Our favourites were the Glitter Ball made with a sparkling sphere of creamy white chocolate-coated lemon and blueberry cake and the Karamel Kiss which is a salted-caramel lip gloss that guests apply and lick. The bar and lounge also offers Soho’s pinkest brunch event where guests can indulge in unlimited waffles and pancakes as well as 1,5 hours of bottomless Frose or Prosecco.
By night the Perception bar transforms into a glamourous night spot with its Mirror menu offering comfort classics alongside their plant-based versions of the same dishes. For lights bites they also have a tapas selection including scallops with pea puree and crispy nori, gin cured salmon and octopus lollipops. A side portion of truffle chips or sweet potato fries are the perfect complement to their Sips drinks menu which is as outrageous, creative and chic as the interior design. Some of our favourites include the £18 Millennial which is based on the idea of an avocado margarita where the tequila kick is definitely felt. It is made with patron silver, Cointreau, CBD oil, avocado, lime juice, agave and red chili. Another highlight was the £19 Butch Bubbles; a bubble-based cocktail comprised of Veuve Clicquot, grey goose citron, limoncello, crème D’abricot and cherry bitters, as well as the £15 Make a green choice cocktail which celebrates the arrival of the great British summer with its Star Bomaby, crème de peche, basil and fresh cucumber, apricot jam and lemon juice ingredients. There is a drink for everyone with its broad selection of the best champagne, wine, spirits, whiskey, rum, pisco, tequila, cognac, apertifs and beers.
The Perception bar is open until 1am every day of the week and until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays and from day to night, it offers guests the perfect spot to enjoy the many vibrant characters, designs and themes that make up the eclectic city of London.

Discreetly located in a cobbled cul-de-sac in London’s St. James neighborhood is the luxury Boutique Dukes Hotel, famously beloved by Princess Diana, and home to the iconic Dukes Bar London. For the past 35 years, Dukes Bar has redefined the martini and has crafted it in such a way that it has become a modern classic, that was not only a favourite but also inspired the author behind the popular James Bond Franchise, Ian Fleming. Dukes’ martini and the atmosphere within which it is prepared and served epitomises the suave, timeless and sophisticated characteristics of James Bond, and it is only fitting that the birth of the classic adage “shaken not stirred” originated here.
Dukes Bar London exudes a traditional British ambience decorated with a mahogany paneled bar, intimate lighting and walls covered with portraits and prints especially procured from Dukes’ personal collection. With a cocktail in hand, guests can sink into an emerald green velvet armchair and feel the warmth emanating from the marble fireplace. Thereafter, guests are invited to walk out to the Cognac and Cigar Garden next to the bar, order another cocktail, and experience a new intimate setting fashioned with living greenery.
As expected, martinis are the heart of the cocktail menu and with the innovation of Alessandro Palazzi, the bar manager at Dukes since 2007, are served to guests in the most cinematic way imaginable. Guests are not only served their martini crafted with their choice of 15 different types of gin, but are also actively engaged in the process of its creation. From the legendary martini trolley, white-jacketed bartenders eloquently create bespoke martinis table-side for their guests, who are able to visually feast on their chilled glass being expertly filled with frozen syrup-like gin, imbued with dashes of vermouth and garnished with delicate peels of Amalfi lemon. Guests can choose from one of seven signature martinis, with the most ordered one being the Vesper Martini made of No. 3 Gin, Polacki vodka, Angostura bitters and Sacred Dukes Exclusive Amber Vermouth. Another notable signature martini is the Fleming 89 crafted as an ode to the ‘Floris 89’ eau de toilette worn by James Bond. The Fleming 89 is a dessert in liquid-form with vodka fused with sugared roses, rose liqueur, chocolate bitters and tonka beans. At Dukes Bar guests can also select cosmopolitans and other cocktails that are as artfully and uniquely created as their classic martinis. A favourite option is the ‘Miss Moneypenny’ comprised of Russian standard vodka, triple sec, lime and mixed with passion fruit juice instead of cranberry juice which traditionally accompanies cosmopolitans.
Dukes Bar London is iconic for seamlessly intertwining its traditional elegance with its novel and eccentric approach to creating and presenting its cocktails. It’s a daring and adventurous bar, not only known for creating London’s best martinis but is also notorious for crafting the most potent ones, with Alessandro Palazzi admittedly cautioning guests to a two-drink maximum, but what’s fun without a bit of risk involved.
