Scott’s Restaurant London

Scott's At Scott’s guests are transported to the beauty of the sea-side with its selection of the finest seafood cuisine, with fresh oysters, lobster, crab and sole as its quintessential dishes. Scott’s debuted in 1851 as an oyster bar in Haymarket and by the 1950s was attracting the likes of the infamous Marilyn Monroe as well as Winston Churchill. Now Scott’s is located in the heart of the bustling Mount Street in Mayfair. With its esteemed history, and its recent refurbishment by the Caprice Group, whose portfolio also includes the popular restaurants The Ivy, J Sheekey and Le Caprice, Scott’s has become one of London’s landmark restaurants synonymous with class, grandeur, elegance and fine-dining. Scott’s chic interior, encapsulated in its choice of regal cream and gold colours, shimmery mosaic tiles and polished wood panelling adorned with classic artwork and mirrors, has recently attracted an impressive A-class clientele including famous models Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell and beloved celebrities the Beckhams and Windsors. The epicentre of the restaurant is its marble seafood bar, surrounded by fish-scale mosaic floor tiles, and visually alluring its guests to a stone altar upon which a plethora of fresh and crustacea is displayed on ice. At the bar, guests are invited to start off their evening with an appetiser and to try a perfect pairing of champagne and freshly shucked oysters served with tabasco, sherry vinegar and zesty lemon. Scott’s also offers an impressive terrace that guests can especially enjoy in the summertime, spectacular for watching the day turn to evening whilst smoking cigars and drinking a glass of Veuve Clicquot and West Mersea Native oysters. Scott’s head chef Dave McCarthy and Caprice Group Chef Tim Hughes have curated a menu comprised of fresh fish delivered from both the coast and London’s Billingsgate Fish Market. Guests can select a traditional plate of smoked haddock with colcannon, and a dish of hake, capers and octopus. Guests that wish to indulge in a more extravagant seafood experience are recommended to try the octopus and tempura langoustine, lemon Dover sole off the bone, and the stargazy pie made with golden puff-pastry and creamy white-fish. If fish-based cuisine is not to your taste for the evening, Scott’s also offers an extensive array of seasonal game, meat and vegetarian dishes, with the Bannockburn rib steak, and baked aubergine served with tomatoes, parmesan and poached egg as popular choices. Scott’s provides its guests with a theatrical experience where an opulent and ornate design aesthetic meets the delicious richness of seafood cuisine. It is a restaurant that has been classified as an institution, and although it has been around since the 1850s it has managed to maintain its iconic reputation whilst adapting its style and cuisine to the needs of modern society.
