Maggies - Maggies Guestlist & Maggies Table Bookings

Maggies

Take a blast to the past at Maggies, and experience a taste of the 80’s. The late night bar, which derives its name from the era’s prime minister, Margaret Thatcher. A must visit place for anyone who loves the era of legwarmers, rubiks cubes and can’t wait to (flash) dance the night away. Everything this neon haven does follows suit with their 80’s dance party theme, from the venue itself, the menu, and even their website, which you can’t be on for more than a couple of seconds before seeing an 80’s pop culture reference.

The building, located a short walk from Gloucester Road underground station, on Fulham Road in Chelsea, looks fairly ordinary from the front, then you descend their stairway, adorned with union jacks and images of the Iron Lady herself. Once you reach the bottom of the staircase, you see a wall, plastered with all the most popular music from the era, all on vinyl, and cases filled with the most popular toys, shows and books, adding an authenticity to the venue and creating a nostalgic atmosphere. You then enter the main room, which maintains the 80’s vibes with neon lighting, staff in pop culture costumes of the era and decor with nostalgic references as far as the eye can see. The big schtick of the theme is their bookable tables, which are not to be passed up on, that are shaped like giant rubik’s cubes and cassette tapes.

If you’re here for a specific club night, Thursday night is the night for you. Although the club is available for private hire for up to 180 guests any day of the week, Thursday are where the party really is. Their weekly UV party boasts a galore of glow sticks and fancy dress, and of course, as the name suggests, plenty of UV, in the form of face painting and cocktails.

The menu simply enhances their ‘gnarly’ theme. Their shareable cocktails, either in the shape of Margaret Thatcher’s head, or PacMan, and irresistible and well worth the money, but if that’s too much for you, their smaller individual cocktails are all centered around the decade, from the Tainted Love, and purple rain, to the Maggie’s mug, served in an actual Margaret Thatcher mug, and the rubik’s cube, which, you can probably guess what that gets served in. And if that wasn’t enough to make you feel like you went through a time machine, they sell near wayfarers and visors to add that extra pinch of authenticity. But if you’re feel totally rad, and ready to party, we recommend you check out The Super Mario, which may come with a hefty price tag, but when you check out the ingredients and the presentation, it’ll be difficult to resist. Don’t risk missing out and get yourself on the guestlist today!
