The Lisboeta restaurant brings the relaxed lifestyle of Lisbon to London. It was created by chef Nuno Mendes, born and raised in Lisbon. The restaurant seeks to celebrate the traditions and emotions of the Portuguese capital. Set over three floors, the place invites its guests to explore the gastronomic heritage of Portugal. Here you can taste various small plates called “petiscos” and indulge in regional wines.
The menu explores the culinary traditions of Lisbon. It brings forth ingredients from the different regions of Portugal and explores their flavour complexities. With a menu that evolves with the day, since the Lison lifestyle moves according to mealtime, the chef can explore different dimensions of traditional culinary, mixing them with his own experiences as a world traveller. The food menu features the “petiscos,” small plates for sharing with the table. Savour wild and cultivated mushrooms with egg yolk bread sauce, grilled cod with caramelised onions and potatoes, or a grilled acorn-fed black pork from the Alentejo with fermented red pepper paste.
Move to the Tachos and Travessas, large dishes inspired by the culinary traditions of Lisbon. Taste red prawn and seafood rice, the catch of the day, or even a slow-cooked lamb shoulder with red wine, turnip top & bread stew. With local vineyards and wine producers, Lisboneta also brings forth a rich and unique wine list, with red, white, and sparkling options. Order traditional Portuguese desserts and some Port wine to serve as a digestive.
As for the design of the place, immerse yourself in the tranquillity of Portuguese life with a homey and intimate space. On the ground floor, find a bar that offers counter dining and a complete kitchen view. Sit by the large windows close to brick walls and enjoy the sunlight during lunchtime. On the second floor, you can find artwork covering the white walls, light-wood furniture, and a sense of eating at home.
