Greenwich welcomes a new culinary hotspot with the opening of Highroad Social restaurant in London. This British restaurant and seafood bar promises to bring an exciting blend of traditional and contemporary flavours to the area. With open doors on July 7, 2024, Highroad Social will become a favourite among locals and visitors.
David O’Brien, former development director at Caprice Holdings, is the founder of the place. Highroad Social aims to create a dining experience emphasising seasonality and sustainability. The restaurant is led by Irish head chef Fionnan Flood, previously of The Chelsea Pig, who draws inspiration from his grandmother’s passion for cooking and dedication to using premium local ingredients.
The restaurant occupies the site of the former Rivington Grill, next to the Picturehouse cinema. Its interior design takes cues from modern Georgian townhouses and incorporates tropical elements that nod to Greenwich’s maritime history. The space accommodates 100 diners inside, with additional seating for 20 on the outside terrace. A 40-cover semi-private room on the mezzanine floor is ideal for special occasions and private events.
