The restaurants history shines through its doors with a vintage feel. For 300 years it was a tavern and through the years has been re-invented, eventually to hold home to Goat; with the décor consisting of leather banquettes, thick curtains and stone and metal binding the walls and floors. Comprising of three different floors offers the all-day restaurant, a late-night bar and ‘The Chelsea Prayer Room.’ (Secret Cocktail bar.) The Mezzanine level overlooks the main restaurant with an open kitchen. Being the centre of attention of course is the wood-fire oven cooking you up any pizza with your favorite choice of toppings.
The ‘Chelsea Prayer Room’ – a clandestine, atmospherically-lit cocktail bar consist’s of leather sofas, luxurious cushions and even more vintage touches such as dark wood cabinets filled with old books and stone walls. The room is dimly lit and glowing candles giving it a rustic feel. The bar menu itself encompasses a different cocktail for each letter of the alphabet; each with a different meaning. The cocktails are made up of a collection of originals, new recipes and the Goat’s very own twist. If you are looking to make your way through the menu number 10, 20 and the last are on the house almost to guarantee your return! The wine list is accessible and covers a range of mainly French and Italian wines.
Head Chef Fabio Cuofano’s aim is to make sure that at the same time as being creative, Goat provides something for everybody’s tastesbuds. The calamari fritti is a favorite to start and if you’re looking to share the antipasti board offers all your Italian favorites including daniele ham, bresaola, datterini tomatoes, rocket, nocellara olives, artichoke, pecorino and plenty of crunchy pane carasau.
Pizzas are always a favourite with a choice of toppings such as Italian fennel sausage, pancetta and goats cheese. Popular ones are also the seabass and the nut roast on offer for vegetarians.
