Connaught Bar Connaught Bar sits with pride in The Connaught Hotel in Mayfair. Renowned for its lavish decor and fine Martinis there is no surprise it won ‘World’s Best Bar’ at the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards in both 2012 and 2016. Even with a judging panel of over 100 industry experts and making it the only bar in the world to have won it twice!  Connaught Bar was designed by David Collins studio who are also very well know for designing Roux at the Landau. The hotel was named in reference after Queen Victoria’s 7th child Arthur, Duke of Connaught. The walls are textured in platinum leaf and its design is based on English and Irish Cubist art of the 1920’s. Class and elegance layers the room leaving you plenty to stare in awe at as you sip on your cocktail. There is nothing to fault when it comes to the Connaught Bar and even after its big revamp in 2007 it still offers history and elegance at its finest. Ago Perrone who runs the bar completes every persons visit with the highest quality service. You can witness first hand your martini being crafted for you. Connaught’s Martinis are always ‘quietly stirred’ and never shaken and are made especially fitted for your tastebuds with hand made bitters. They are then poured from an outstanding height into your glass so precisely there is nothing to fault; probably something not too try yourself. The cocktail menu is made from tradition , history and innovation. It takes limited edition champagnes, spirits and liqueurs all mixed carefully to create a unique experience for every sip. Some of the Connaught Classics include ‘Fleurissimo’ which was made in honour of former Princess Grace of Monaco and takes a champagne cocktail and adds a refined twist with ingredients such as Remy Martin Vsop, home-made Connaught bitters and Laurent-Perrier Champagne. Another is the 'Mulata Daisy' which is one of Ago Perrone’s favourite creations inspired by true love with a blend of Bacardi Heritage 44% , creme de cacao and Galliano L’atentico. The new Essence menu is designed by the mixologists of Connaught bar and is split into three different sections taking you through Foundation , Finesse and Flair. It’s been inspired over ten years and take you through a sensory journey into what makes the Connaught Bar. Champagnes are also available to order by glass and bottle. Connaught Bar sets the mood for winter and welcomes you in to summer. Adding a unique, desirable touch to Mayfair.
