Blind Spot is Covent Garden’s swanky late night ‘speakeasy’, located in St Martin’s Lane. Philip Starck’s luxury hotel bar is a part of the Morgan’s Hotel group making it quite the prestigious place. The multi-hued lighting adds to the prestigious and slick character and the combination of wood, leather and mixture of fabrics in gold, red and brown make it extremely grand. This richness combined with welcoming staff gives the place a ‘great atmosphere’.
If you want to have an adventurous, but calm late night out, it’ over 21’s policy will assure you of this. Starting in the ‘Den’ with tea or Gin & Tonic’s, then moving onto Blindspot itself, hidden behind a boutique tea counter and a secret hand-shaped handle for cocktails. If you then fancy a meal you can then extend your evening and move onto Asia de Cuba to experience Chef Luis Pous ‘dynamic Latin-Asian fusion menu’, giving you a range of activities to make sure your night is not short of ventures.
The bespoke signature cocktails are influenced by the British Empire and its ancient tea tradition, travelling ‘from harbour to harbour’ gathering a world of flavours. Everything is tied to the theme with the ‘Spin the Globe’ cocktails complimented by the ‘Savoury and Sweet Menu’ offering jerk chicken to coconut tempura prawns or if you have more of a sweet tooth maybe give the rum baba or Mexican doughnuts and try. If you fancy a lavish afternoon you could even attend the Speakeasy Tea or Champagne Flight…after all this place wouldn’t be very British without your classic afternoon tea!
Besides this each night has a different event, Tuesday’s ‘Live Spot’ host London’s best Jazz and Swing acts, Wednesdays are ‘Vinyl Nights’ and Thursdays ‘Vintage Nights’ so if you’re in the mood for smooth evening and being taken back in time mid-week this would be just the place to relax. But, if you want more of an upbeat night, the weekends are full of 80’s and 90’s electronic-dance music. So if you fancy a big night out, an extravagant night or even a night-cap after a show, this place is sure to give you a versatile evening.
