This swanky London bar is located on Southbank and belongs to the Morgan’s hotel group, created by multi award winning bartender Ryan Chetiyawardana winner multiple awards including the worlds best bartender in 2015. Through the design of his bar he brings a neighbourhood vibe to the glamour of the Mondrian. Throughout the week different vibes are created with the mixture of music being played from late 70s to early 80s rock, funk and disco, including various dj’s each weekend. The striking interior is designed by legendary by Tom Dixon, creating a art-deco inspired space with a luxurious feel featuring lavender leather, velour lounge chairs, mirrored tables and green walls, completed with a gold brass and dark Doreen marble bar top.
There are various surrounding rooms that you can also move onto later including the den which is a more relaxed area or if you enjoy rooftop bars then head up to the Rumpus room where there is a more energetic scene with live music and bright light glittering over the riverside. The menu now includes the ‘Modern Cafe of Plants’ cocktail list which explores themes in industrialisation with the three different flavoured sections: mint, grape and hops…one of them coming second in the Top 50 cocktails of 2018. So if you like the sound of this place it may be a good idea to book or get there early as it tends to get very busy due to its endless list of awards!
