Aldgate is made up a number of bars but only few stand out making them the top recommended high-end bars to visit in London. Jin Bo Law Skybar being one. The bar’s name originates from an ancient golden wine cup immortalised in the Book of Northern Qi. It locates itself in the busy ends of Aldgate on the 14th floor of Dorset City Hotel overlooking what can only be told as one of London’s most iconic skyline views whilst sipping on cocktails you never even imagined to exist. Being one of London’s newest rooftop bars its climbed its way to the top through its cleverly hand-crafted cocktails, remarkable customer service and prime location.
The interior is Asian inspired with a black and yellow theme and consists of marble floors, bronze surfaces and a giant geometric pineapple dominating over the heads of people sat at the bar. Jin Bo Law Skybar attracts many different crowds making it one of the reasons for being so popular whether you’re looking for a after work drink, a place to celebrate your birthday in style or a romantic evening for you and your loved one. The bar has inside and outside seating separated by big glass windows (able to be opened or closed depending on season) making the view just as iconic wherever you choose to sit. The terrace offering the perfect place to soak in the summer sun or a night time winter view encased in the warmth of the inside. The perspective of the views adds to the reason on why their so spectacular with the Gherkin and Walkie-Talkie seeming in hands reach whilst London bridge placing itself on the map as if built in a model village.
The cocktail menu is inspired by the Asian theme by taking your normal cocktail menu and adding their own ‘Jin B Law’ twist. ‘Dragon air’ holds their own creative ingredients replacing very Western gin with Eastern Baijiu (a Chinese spirit) originally inspired from the ‘White Negroni’. Changing this around adds the more exotic flavours of pear and chocolate together. Another highly recommended home-made concoction is ‘Fizz from a rose.’ This is made up of kaffir lime, rose liquor, egg white and ginger beer enhancing not your experience not only though the taste but textures as well. Lastly a must-try on the menu is the ‘Butterfly Punch’ which is a traditional vodka based punch added in with their own Jasmine tea twist. Or perhaps you fancy enjoy your creamy cocktails? Milk and Cookies is one of Jin Bo Laws signature drinks combining sake, white chocolate, rice krispies, vanilla milk and bitters, presented in a glass milk carton and finished off with a cookie taking you back to those childhood days making bedtime that little bit easier.
With several sky bars in London there’s only few that separate themselves from the rest. With its unique cocktail menu and breathtaking views there isn’t much more to ask for. It’s new, modern and stylish the; perfect hotspot to visit in London.

Barts is a very discreet bar, tucked behind an inconspicuous black door of an apartment block on Sloane Avenue. This speakeasy will take you back in time to the prohibition era of 1920s America, you’ll feel so immersed to the point that you’ll feel as if you have stepped into a scene from Gatsby or Bugsy Malone.
Although small, its comic strip wall paper, mismatched furniture, taxidermy and warm lighting create a cosy and intimate space full of character. Besides this the skilful bartenders perform their skills and give you their unrequited attention in classic dress from the period.
Barts is one of the Inception Group’s venues which also includes Maggie’s, Bungatini, Bunga Bunga, Cahoots and Mr Frogg’s. These bars are dotted all over London from Chelsea to Knightsbridge to Pimlico and Marylebone; all part of the same thread, but full off individuality, giving you a range of different places to visit after your first night in Barts.
If you want to enjoy a couple of cocktails in a different environment then this is the place for you, it’s perfect all year round; besides it’s indoor area there is also a unique secret garden which is perfect for summer as it has a seasonal menu. As well as this there are a range of different drinks to choose from its consistent comic book menu known for its ‘finest yet most illicit liquors and alcoholic concoctions know to the loving lawbreakers of London’.
Specialities include their Perique Tobacco Cocktail’s such as the ‘Smoke Screen’ which is served in a Dewar’s Signature box and made with Perique Tobacco Liqueur, Dewar’s 18 Y.O. Scotch Whisky, Angostura bitters and orange and sugar.
If you’d like to enjoy a range of small bites alongside your drinks there is small sushi menu to indulge into in a tapas esc style, or for something more filling maybe try the highly recommended Jenga Jenga chips and the Pulled Pork Buns. If at the weekend you’d like to splash out why not attend a ‘Criminal’s Afternoon Tea’ held on Saturday’s at 2pm consisting of three different options starting from £35pp which include teapots full of quirky alcoholic mixtures.
They also hold a variation of different events from daily cocktail masterclasses to ‘Mountgay Moonshine Sundays’ and even a ‘Boarding School’ evening held every Monday consisting of having a drink while playing some old school games such as Cluedo and Monopoly. If you also enjoy live entertainment then this is the place for you as they hold one off gigs alongside weekly performance’s by ‘The Piano Man’, Michael Moore. So if you fancy a journey back in time full of old school cocktails and funky entertainment why not knock on their door!

Radio Rooftop Bar is located on the 10th Floor of the affluent ME London Hotel right by Temple tube station. Offering 360 views of the Thames and London skyline, it is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of champagne or some signature cocktails. For a truly lavish and luxurious experience, head down to Manetta’s bar, located in the iconic Fleming’s Hotel, in Mayfair, a 3 minute walk from Green Park station, it is an up and coming staple of the opulent drinking scene. Open until 11PM every day of the week (1AM if you’re a guest), if a decadent drinking experience is what you’re looking for then look no further.
Manetta’s bar adorns an art deco theme, everything about the bar screams luxury vintage, with a hint of a prohibition era bar, from the geometric patterns interior and the vintage bar high chairs. The perfect spot for a luxury night out that also almost transports you to another era, think of flappers and 20’s theme paintings on the walls. The bar attracted a sophisticated crowd, and there’s no wonder why. From the interior to the lavish drinks menu, this bar has it all for a luxury crowd. And the location adds no surprise to this too. Located in the prominent Flemings hotel in the heart of Mayfair, the hotel has it all and the bar is no exception.
Another staple of Manetta’s bar is it’s literary influence. The bar itself was an influence for a quote in a book by Sarah Helm, and the quote perfectly captures the essence of the bar, that it is “lively but with quiet secluded corners”. The beauty of this is easy to see, if you are interested in a more outgoing and vibrant night this is for you, but if you’re looking for a quieter more intimate drinking experience this can also be found, adding to the statement that this bar has everything. In addition to this, some of their drinks are inspired by famous authors, especially Agatha Christie, with cocktails named after quotes by her, and they even created a specialised cocktail menu to celebrate the release of Murder on the Orient Express.
And if Agatha Christie inspired drinks aren’t your thing, then there are plenty other drinks guaranteed to please at Manetta’s bar, with cocktails inspired by other authors such as James Joyce and Gertrude Stein, and if a literary inspiration isn’t for you, they have a selection of classic cocktails, wines and spirits with something to please everyone. As if that was enough, they also boast a specialist selection of bar food and burgers. Manetta’s bar is not one to be missed, so don’t miss out and make sure you book a table, and make the most of your experience at this beautiful bar.
