Park Chinois Restaurant London

Park Chinois Restaurant London

Matching the vibrancy of Berkeley Square is the restaurant Park Chinois – a hidden oasis for cuisine which is as extravagant as its design and entertainment. The ground floor Salon de Chine dining space pays homage to the yesteryear 1930s Shanghai speakeasys.

Park Chinois starts its theatrics the moment guests are ushered through a seemingly impenetrable wooden door. This immediately evokes an image of a glorious speakeasy setting, and sets them up for the reveal of an opulent and extravagant dining space. Swathes of plush red velvet and glittering gold juxtapose light pink and blue floral fabric. Windows veiled with white net and red velvet evoke a sultry atmosphere and emphasise the glow emanating from lamps fringed with burgundy silk. Its provocative ambience is also harnessed through the gilded candles, and draping crystal chandeliers reflecting shards of light from the mirrored ceiling panels. The acoustics are exactly what one would expect from a high-end speakeasy – their nightly live brass band immediately sets the tone for an electric night filled with remixes of Beyonce and Bruno Mars. Park Chinois restaurant London exudes flash and glitz from its design, music through to its opulent and innovative Chinese cuisine.

The cuisine is bold and typifies the highest level of skill with its combination of global culinary techniques. It is made with traditional Chinese flavours and ingredients whilst presented in a contemporary and western style. There is a menu for every occasion be it for a light lunch or long dinner. For a taste of everything, we recommend selecting the set-lunch or dinner menus, but for groups larger than six, their group dining menu is the best option. Their dinner menu encompasses opulent starters of Caviar, appetisers of tea smoked beef ribs, wasabi prawns and shell crab dishes. Traditional dim sum dishes can also be ordered as a starter with options ranging from wagyu beef, duck, scallop and vegetable fillings. For lighter starters, delicious soups and salads can be ordered which showcase the wonderful subtly of Chinese flavours. Park Chinois restaurant London has every type of meat dish imaginable including its Wagy beef, lamb, pork, duck and chicken dishes. The mains celebrate Chinese flavours with excellent flair and attention to traditional techniques. Many of the dishes are stir-fried in classic flavours including sweet & sour, mango, and peanut sauce. A highlight is the £79 Stir-fried Chilean Wagyu Rib-eye with Wagyu salami and chili. Park Chinois has a variety of fish an shellfish as well as noodle and rice dishes. From the fish selection, one of our favourites was the £60 Dover sole fillet prepared using a classic wok to help the natural flavours as well as the XO sauce shine. Other fantastic options include a sea bass, native lobster, king crab and prawn dishes that each deliver their own combination of wonderful classic flavours. Their noodle dishes are equally phenomenal – try the vermicelli noodles with sumptuous native lobster or the braised beef with ho fun noodles. Whichever you select, you will not be disappointed as each dish typifies the legacy of traditional Chinese flavour profiles whilst injecting this with modern cooking techniques.

Down the spiralling staircase is where the magic of Park Chinois is truly captured. The space is home to Club Chinois where live entertainment and music are the beating heart of the space. The design is as luxurious as the restaurant, combining opulence with more opulence. Park Chinois restaurant London has a labyrinth of cocktails to choose from – select from their aperitifs, signature cocktails, refashioned classics and even from their non-alcoholic list. There are so many wonderful alternatives, and for nights that begin at the Salon de Chine and transition to the Club Chinois. Highlights include the £15 Yuzu Levant made with The Botanist Gin, Apricot and Yuzu Liqueur, apple juice and apricot jam. Or a refashioned classic including the Vodka Collins, a contemporary take on a classic Tom Collins. This cocktail is made with marmalade vodka, Floc de Gascogne Blanc, yuzu marmalade, elderflower, ginger, lemon, peach bitters and a splash of soda water.

The prime Berkeley Square is home to a plethora of restaurants and bars that thrive from day into night and Park Chinois is no exception! It combines the best of luxury design and cuisine with an unparalleled flair for an electric and sultry ambience. Whether you are having lunch, dinner or drinks at the upstairs bar, the extraordinary Park Chinois experience is the same and cannot be duplicated any where else!
