Cecconis Restaurant London

Cecconis

Situating itself in Burlington Gardens in Mayfair sits the finest of Italians Cecconis. Branching out worldwide including places such as Berlin, West Hollywood, New York and many more. It’s specifically known for its recipes made with the finest ingredients to produce hand-made pasta and seafood dishes. Enzo Cecconi first opened up Ceccon’s in 1978 where it instantly became an over night success with word reaching out about the quality of the food. One waiter even says he remembers serving four royal families at four different tables during Ascot week! Sadly in 1999 Cecconi’s closed but was then re-opened in 2004 by Hans Farsi and Nick Jones who also owns very well-known Soho House who made sure to carry on the restaurant’s reputation to an even higher standard. Further in 2005 it underwent some more renovation taking it back to its Venetian roots.

When it comes to the design of the restaurant Cecconis sends you into a home of culture. The front of Cecconis is made up of high French windows which let in an inviting natural light to the restaurant. The golden lighting inside provides a warm safe feeling for its costumers distracting everyone from the outside world. The interior settles for nothing but luxurious with beautiful ornamental crystal mirrors, turquoise coloured chairs and contrasting tiles of a black and white print which add a sophisticated edge to the interior without being too much for your eyes.

Opening from the early hours of 7am Cecconis offers an authentic breakfast menu for those early enough to be able to experience it. You’re able to pick out of the fruits and cereals section, bakery, the egg favourites or the traditional full English to start your day. Brunch offers you a light and heavy selection of dishes ranging from Tuna steak and Rib eye to the late starters of the day still just getting ready for their breakfast. As the evening draws to a close and the lights dim down fresh pasta is cooking away for everyone’s favourite dishes including Linguine, Vongole & Bottarga, Aubergine ravioli, salted ricotta and Tagliatelli Bolognese. All foods are served with a recommended wine to match your food and evening. The Italian traditional deserts include warm pear tart with chesnut ice cream, chocolate fondant and mandarin cheesecake. But that’s just a taste. Cecconis is also now the only Italian restaurant with an authentic ‘Cichetta’ (Venetian tapas bar.) Highlights on the menu served include fennel salami and capocollo (cured pork shank rolled in spices) and Umbrian sausage in red pepper.

Cecconis is the kind of restaurant where the food is just as explicit as the service. You are treated as though you never left even though it’s your first time visiting. The perfect place if you need a break from the City. Image source
